KHAZANAH ASIA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME 2018

 

Yayasan Khazanah is a foundation established by Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah Nasional) - the investment-holding arm of the Government of Malaysia. In line with Khazanah's commitment to selecting and grooming exceptional Malaysian citizens to take on high-level positions at the national level, Yayasan Khazanah is equally committed to developing leaders from fellow Asian countries.

Yayasan Khazanah, in collaboration with Yunus Centre  is offering the Khazanah Asia Scholarship to deserving candidates from Bangladesh to pursue their postgraduate education at selected leading universities globally and in Malaysia.

All students attending any public or private universities in Bangladesh can apply for a Masters or PhD programme globally or in Malaysia under the following scholarship programme:

1.       Khazanah Global Asia Scholarship – is offered to those who are planning to pursue or currently pursuing Postgraduate studies at selected leading universities in the United Kingdom and the United States.

2.       Khazanah Asia Scholarship - is offered to those who are planning to pursue or currently pursuing Postgraduate studies at selected leading universities in Malaysia.

**Special priority would be given to children of Grameen Bank borrowers in the primary selection.

Criteria for Post Graduate Master Degree Studies

1.       Obtained a minimum of Second Class (Upper) Division or where there is a point system, obtained a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50 in Bachelor's Degree.

2.       Obtained admission to pursue studies at renowned universities (Conditional offer can be considered)

3.       Met the minimum language requirement set by the University i.e. IELTS band 6.5 and above for Khazanah Asia Global Scholarship;

4.       Not exceeding 35 years of age as at the enrolment date for the Master programme

5.       Applicants will need to show evidence of leadership skills, through active participation in extra-curricular, social or voluntary activities; and

6.       Medically fit.

Criteria for PhD Programme

1.       Obtained a distinction or 'A' grade average or equivalent (if there is a point systems) or CGPA of 3.50 and above at Master Degree.

2.       Obtained admission to pursue studies at renowned universities (Conditional offer can be considered)

3.       Met the minimum language requirement set by the University i.e. IELTS band 6.5 and above for Khazanah Asia Global Scholarship;

 

1.       Not exceeding 40 years of age as at the enrolment date for the PhD programme of Khazanah Global Scholarship;

 

5.       Applicants will need to show evidence of leadership skills, through active participation in extra-curricular, social or voluntary activities; and

6.       Medically fit

Field of Studies

A.     Business (Including but not limited to: Finance, Accountancy, Economics, Law, International Business, Actuarial Science etc.)

B.      Engineering (Including but not limited to: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc.)

C.      Life Sciences (Including but not limited to: Biotechnology, etc.)

D.     Others (Disciplines/Courses) which are in niche-areas and important for the development of the participating countries.

List of Approved Universities in the United Kingdom and the United States under the Khazanah Asia Global Scholarship Programme:

1.       University of Cambridge

2.       Harvard University

3.       University of Oxford

4.       Stanford University

5.       Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

**Students with TOEFL, IELTS, GRE/GMAT scores or prior admission in above listed universities will get preference for global scholarship programme

The Yunus Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh is accepting applications and conducting parts of the assessment process on behalf of Yayasan Khazanah to nominate students for the Khazanah Asia Scholarship Programme and Khazanah Global Scholarship Programme.

Age limit: For Masters,
not exceeding 40 years of age as at the enrolment date for the Masters programme for Khazanah Global Scholarship, and, not exceeding 35 years of age as at the enrolment date for the Masters programme for Khazanah Asia Scholarship

Required documents:

Academic transcripts & certificates, national ID card, birth certificate and recent passport sized photos (4 copies). IELTS score will be required after the selection process. A signed personal statement as required in the application form.
Special Note for PhD candidates: Please also include your academic transcript for the Masters Degree.
