MEDIA ADVISORY: Congress to Hold Gold Medal Ceremony Honoring Professor Muhammad Yunus

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Leaders of the U.S. House and Senate will award the Congressional Gold Medal to Professor Muhammad Yunus in recognition of his efforts to combat global poverty.  Congress voted to award the medal to Professor Yunus in 2010.  The Gold Medal represents Congress’s highest expression of national appreciation for distinguished achievements and contributions.  The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. ET in the Rotunda of the United States Capitol.
