- Social Business School
May 21, 2011
Dear,
I would like to share an idea that came to me and that could be really helpful to the emerging sector of Social Business: Developing a "Social Business School". Because althought Social Business is in many ways similar to a "classic enterprise", it has specificities in many aspects which requires a dedicated theory. So to make the explanation very simple. The social Business School would be similar to a business school like Harvard excepte that it would address the specifities of social business. Therefore, the objective would be to form students and managers to develop their entrepreneurial spirit and the necessary skills to run a social business properly. Also, that school would include a dedicated research center aiming at developing a "Social Business theory" thus a specific managerial, financial and economic approach to Social Business. Dont hesitate to share your opinion about that idea. Maybe it exists already? Best regards, Pierre Neuman.

306.) Muhammad Yunus…Bka…Money “Jungle” Yuppie ? -99% of his clients are Females ? Muhammad Yunus (Bengali: ???????? ?????, pronounced Muhammôd Iunus) (born 28 June 1940) is a Bangladeshi economist and founder of the Grameen Bank, an institution that provides microcredit (small loans to poor people possessing no collateral) to help its clients establish creditworthiness and financial self-sufficiency. In 2006 Yunus and Grameen received the Nobel Prize for Peace. He previously was a professor of economics where he developed the concepts of microcredit and microfinance. These loans are given to entrepreneurs too poor to qualify for traditional bank loans. Yunus is also the founder of Grameen Bank. Yunus himself has received several other national and international honors. He is the author of Banker to the Poor and a founding board member of Grameen America and Grameen Foundation. In early 2007 Yunus showed interest in launching a political party in Bangladesh named Nagorik Shakti (...

Dear Sir,
I salute you and your works. I think only compromise with jealous, quarrelsome slum women like PM can be done if you become Grameen Corporation's Chairman. Let all Grameen group renamed as "Grameen Corporation" and it should be autonomous. But you should create career professionals who can take charge in your absence otherwise there'll be vacuum in leadership. Just today an article in Al-Jazeera English has hurt me. See the link and protest: http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/opinion/2011/03/20113281419305558 65.html The writer from Columbia university but originally from Calcutta. It seems he is just echoing PM's voice. Kind regards, Dr.Muneer

There is no model for Social Enterprise. It is only Dr. Yunus who has created a unique business model for Social Enterprise. It is beyond understanding of Hasina administration. Please don’t muddle with this model, it is being investigated around the world.
It is a silly notion that our government is trying to validate a model where around the world, other governments and business are investigating this unique model

Report on: Secrets behind Dr. Yunus Scandal on NORAD fund The scandal regarding Dr. Yunus has spread like fire & within very short time became the headline of all news media. Later on top officials of Bd Govt. also made crude statement on Dr. Yunus. While this scam was storming the media, Dr. Yunus was in abroad but when he returned back in Bd he stated confidently that it was solved issue. Later on NORAD Authority & NOBLE PEACE Prize Authority came up with two official statements supporting Dr. Yunus's statement. As both authorities cleared up all allegations on Dr. Yunus & Grameen Bank, this issue was supposed to be ended in a nice way. But that didn’t happen. Rather, still many agencies trying to ignite issues against Dr. Yunus. Seeing these nasty politics against the noble laureate, leading economists, members of the civil society, intellectuals urged many times not to attack Dr. Yunus personally. But every of their effort did not work out. An independent agency was given th...

With all respects, In politics there is only one Muzib, in Bangladesh. But in providing dignity to the world poor, is only one Yunis, in the world, yes having access to finance its a gift in the name of micro-credit. It is no surprise to see people of low talent or criminal intent wanting to destroy it.

- Social Business in french version
December 07, 2009
After have read books and articles about M. Yunus'work, I came in Dhaka one month, to learn, and work in the Grameen tower. It was for me an extraordinary experience, as professional and as human. (The diary of my internship is available in french on the blogsite: www.sonja.flusin.over-blog.fr.)
Since I'm back in France I try to disseminate the philosophy of Pr Yunus, through a plateforme of economical information: that's a huge work, but a great one, wich gives a sense to a job of strategic consulting. Congratulations to the yunus centre team who work so much to contribute to a change, and I hope that we will quickly be more and more, disseminating that conception of a civilizated capitalism

Dear Muhammad Yunus
After visiting your website I was inspired and thought about a particular network marketing program with the same goals as you which are promoting health and wealth. I know this is not exactly a social business as people will make profit but it is a business in which you cannot do well without encouraging others to do well and your success is based on how many successfull teams you can build. Please what is you view on this initiative for i think it is a great way to empower the poor and it has already done this in many countries around the world. Yours sincerely Fife

- New Social Business platform
October 18, 2009
I've developed a social business platform,
designed to rapidly spread social business models through every city in the world. Our platform can be quickly and seamlessly integrated with the Yunus Center (and other related organizations, with a similar mission, like Ashoka.) I would love to demonstrate how this works (to someone at the Yunus Center, or an organization with a related mission) and could help accelerate the uptake of principles Muhammad Yunus has proposed. When we launch in January, this will be at www.selfport.com

We share Yunus' belief that an emerging social business sector will create sustainable solutions for many of the world's health, social, and enviromental issues. And Isoke Laboratory is aligned with the vision and definition of a social purpose business that has been pioneered by Noble Peace Prize recipient Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen family of companies.

i am bangladeshi. i love bangladesh. i love dr.yunus. he is my role model. he is the only hope for bangladesh.when he spend some time for other country then i become very sad. other countries have lot of honest and dreamy leaders but we have none.other countries have lot of natural resources and eligibel leaders by which they are developing too fast, but we have none. allah gives us a only one a diamond mine that is yunus. we have bad luck we do not able to use this. due to some selfish corrupted leaders we lose this opportunity. this is our tragedy.
now i talk about the social business.what you expected i think you will not get as much respond. i think you can use the jakat money in social business. people give this money to poor as food or clothes which will not help them independent. you use this money to help the poor to come out of poverty. people give jakat for fore ever. they don't want money back. so we can use this money as social business. thanks.

October 18, 2009
would love to know more about Grameen's India partnerships in such areas as http://www.bankabillion.org and whether there is any way Grameen can connect with Nilekani's vision for India which seems to me to flow the same way as yours for Bangladesh.
Gandhi used education to end the poverty trap of British colonialism and to this day I believe India's deepest experiments in education are world benchmarks. Did Kalam map this for you when you met?

With a wide open heart and a breath of energy, I thank you sir! I heard a talk you gave today, it was viewed on-line at the centre for social innovation in Toronto Ontario Canada. And it was like giving me a set of wings... I've struggled in believing I/ one person can make a difference but in your talk you reminded me that all human beings have unlimited potential and that poverty is not natural for us. I'm more determined now that ever to find a way to not only raise funds but figure out and try new models that bridge the gap of the corporate sector with the non profit sector. Thank you is not enough, just know that if you every get down or discouraged, you can rest knowing you have given wings to a complete stranger!
